Dear Mr. Ellis,
We have replied officially to your letters of the 11th
June and the 27th June (52878,28) with regard to the vacancies
for a Reader in Biology and Lecturers in Chemistry and Physics
at the University of Hong Kong. (Please see my letter of the
10th August.)
In that letter I also mention the selection of a Lecturer
and Tutor in English which we undertook at mr. nornell's
special request. 1 enclose. a copy of a letter with enclosures
from Hornell with regard to this post and also copy of the
particulars.
I am writing this note to ask if you would be so good as to
arrange for Mr. Braine Hartnell 's medical examination as a
